There is no hospice in Latvia. Free palliative care is available, but queues can last up to six weeks, and often patients never wait their turn. RigaPlus.lv interviewed Ilze Neimani-Nespor, the author and director of Hospiss LV, to talk about how the idea came about, why hospice care is so necessary in Latvia, what needs to be done to change the stigma in society about this topic, and how the project is being implemented.
