Every Latvian inhabitant deserves to receive quality care in their last phase of life, despite their social status or level of income.
Yesterday was a lovely afternoon filled with conversations, humorous stories, treats and flowers for our carer, volunteers and carer Valentina. It is human contact, genuine interest in the other person and sincerity that everyone needs.
We are also touched to receive heartfelt feedback from the relatives of those in our care!

Palliative care is an emotionally, physically and financially demanding process. I have never cared for a seriously ill person before, so I especially appreciated the practical advice and help of my carer Valentina. The special bed, the oxygen machine, the emotional support - everything was provided quickly, professionally and, most importantly, the paperwork was completed without delay. In fact, I cannot even imagine how I would have managed to spend the last difficult days before my father's passing if I had not had this support. Such an organisation supported at national level would be an invaluable asset, because even in other parts of the world where hospitals offer affordable palliative care, being able to stay in your own home and receive care and medical services is what people choose."
