Today while the Mandates, ethics and applications commission’s session commission has considered HOSPISS LV applied collective application on “The rights to decent death”. It concerns the introduction of state paid hospice care in Latvia. We have reported the relevance of the problem and the necessity of this service. The representative of the Welfare ministry admitted that the question of hospice care is now being solved only under the pressure of non-governmental organizations and this initiative is really on time at the right place.

The deputies of the commission have unanimously supported the further promotion of the collective application to the Social and employment case commission and the Budget and financial commission for the further activities.
