Today was the fourth day of training for the first group of volunteers in palliative and hospice care.
Dace Kancāne, Head Nurse of Paula Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital, provided the volunteers with important information on the specifics of communication with patients and on patients' rights.
The demonstration of practical examples of how to help patients with personal hygiene by Aiga Lasmane, head nurse of the Palliative Care Unit of the PCUS, was very valuable. Occupational health and safety issues are no less important so that the volunteer does not harm himself or the patient.
Rita Rindža, Head of Department at Riga 1st Hospital, was unbeatable in explaining social care issues.
Unique knowledge covering the spiritual, ethical, medical and practical issues of palliative and hospice care has inspired many volunteers to do real work! So - goal achieved! Thank you to everyone who supports with donations, with knowledge, with time!
