"The reality of life is as it was shown in the LTV news documentary 'The Dirty Zone', where the working day of medics on duty in the special Covid-19 ward is planned by the minute, where drinking coffee and eating lunch is unthinkable as it used to be. The film showed that the fight against the spread of Covid-19 is far from over and that the medical profession still needs the support and care of the public. Unfortunately, as donations to the "Table for our own" campaign decrease, so do the number of meals. At this reduced level, we will only be able to provide hot meals until the end of January. I therefore call on businesses and individuals to join the campaign and help to keep it going until the situation improves. So far, our biggest donors and strong shoulders have been DEPO, Latvijas Finieris and Mēness aptiekas. We understand that everyone is tired of the restrictions, of the uncertainty, but medical professionals cannot afford to give up and give up their work. We believe that this would be a completely inappropriate time to stop the campaign at a time when hospitals are overcrowded and the medical workforce is running out", says the Hospiss.lv representative.
