"He wanted to go fishing in the Daugava, but we didn't make it." Hospiss LV about an oncology patient's last wish.
A dying person's last wish doesn't always have to be grand - it gives them the chance to experience vivid emotions and make small dreams come true. Ilze Zosule, a member of the Hospiss LV Board, talks about this in an interview with Radio Baltkom.
"There was a story about a man who wanted to fish in the Daugava. We spoke to the hospital staff, told them that he would be in a wheelchair, that there was special transport. It is outdoors, the man does not have Covid-19, but cancer. He understands what this will do for him - he will not be in a hospital bed waiting for the last hour. He still has his thoughts and his desire to feel. You and I don't reveal our fondest wishes, but each of us dreams of something." Zosule saysRead the full article in Russian here:
