The charity Hospiss.lv aims to give as many doctors and nurses involved in the care of Covid-19 patients as possible a moment to themselves, allowing them to get away from the daily routine for just a moment. So far, €9,700 have been donated to this cause.
"Probably on the evening of the first day, at sunset, I caught myself thinking that I don't need to think about tomorrow, about being on duty and about home worries," said Agita Jēruma, an infectologist at the Latvian Centre of Infectology, who took the opportunity to relax.
The doctor, who currently works as a coordinator and refers Covid-19 patients to the hospital, woke up from this crazy work schedule on the evening of her first rest day. Find out more about Agita's respite by watching the episode.
