Ilze Neimane-Nešpora, head of Hospiss LV, tells us that the first hospice hhistorically can be found in monasteries, where the incurably ill were cared for by monks.
The word ‘hospiss’ has been integrated into the world's death canvas for 300 years, in Europe for 30 years and now Hospiss LV is trying to weave it into the Latvian culture of dying.
Thanks to the author and presenter of the program Ilmārs Latkovskis, teacher and philosopher of contemplation, for the invitation to pronounce and again raise the topic of death and dying.
