Every Wednesday, Zane and her team visit the patients and staff of the Palliative Care Unit, taking time to chat and treat them to ice cream and treats. And today, on the one-year anniversary of their collaboration, Zane and her team of volunteers and supporters presented the hospital with an indescribably beautiful project idea and its realisation - "Tree of Life".
This special project - "Tree of Life" - will be a place for patients' relatives and visitors to hang out, read patients' insights and unspoken words, and add their own life values to the tree, thus encouraging others.
"This is an invitation to all of us to look at life, to think about what is valuable and lasting in us," said the Chairman of the Board of the North Kurzeme Regional Hospital at the opening Juris Lācis. "It is very gratifying that Ventspils is the first city where this project is being implemented. It is a testament to the commitment of the people of Ventspils, the selfless work of the people of our medical institution and the shared understanding of a life of respect and lifelong relationships."
"Volunteering is undoubtedly important and being a Hospiss LV volunteer is by no means the easiest destination to do something good. Every week, despite everything, volunteers are the ones who hear how many valuable thoughts and insights from the patients," said the volunteer coordinator of the Hospiss LV Foundation, wishing the project a successful development Cynthia Reinberg.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the project - the author of the idea and project manager - Zane Cinglere, Hospiss LV team and donors, Ventspils volunteer team - Zane Eglite, Arta Celma, Alicja Rediko, Veta Priede.
