The company will contribute to this cause, thus ensuring quality rest after a busy workday for several medical staff. The project "A break for our own" was set up because doctors and medical professionals are tired and exhausted. HOSPISS LV is raising funds by involving both companies and private individuals to provide a three-day break in a beautiful place in Latvia, where there is fresh country air, peace and harmony, thus reducing the risks of burnout and replenishing their strength.
"We appreciate everyone's efforts to fight the pandemic and its consequences. Unfortunately, every day we hear stories from medics about situations that go beyond the call of duty and sometimes even beyond humanity. We see medical staff in hospitals and other treatment centres supporting Covid-19 facing mental health challenges, including depression and burnout, as news continues to come in that another wave of the virus is spreading around the world or a new strain of Covid-19 has been discovered," says Marija Dautartaitė, Corporate Relations Manager at Nestlé Baltics.
The company believes it is important for medical staff to be well rested to contribute to stable mental health. "We are happy to be able to make a small contribution to HOSPISS LV, a public benefit organisation that cares for both patients and medical staff, because only together can we resolve the situation and help each other," says M.Dautartaite.
Nestlé's corporate business principles, the world's largest food and beverage company, also guide the company's core ideas, such as justice, fairness and care for individuals and families, society and the planet. Nestlé continues to support society's efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic in the Baltics.
