The European Citizens' Prize is the European award given by the European Parliament to individuals, groups or organisations for their outstanding achievements and contributions to promoting mutual understanding and cohesion among the citizens of the European Union, as well as promoting cross-border cooperation within the European Union, which strengthens the European spirit.
The jury points out that the project implemented by Hospiss LV is "a great, unique, highly valued initiative in the field of palliative care, which is a complex, not yet widely discussed, but very important topic in Latvian society."

European Citizens' Prize awarded to foundation Hospiss LV
The 2022 European Citizens' Prize has been awarded to the Foundation Hospiss LV for a pilot project, which is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Welfare and provides free hospice care to adults.
